HCG Scale for measuring 100 gramsSo, say you’re starting out on the HCG diet and you’re trying to figure out how to cook for your self but, for whatever reason, you don’t have a scale.  Maybe you’ve ordered one and it hasn’t come yet, maybe you’re cooking in a friends kitchen and they don’t have one.  Maybe it just never occurred to you until it came time to cook that you’d need one.  Well, you do. There’s really not any more accurate way to measure out your portions.  But, if ever you do find yourself in a pinch without a food scale, here’s a guide line to lend a helping hand.

If you’re measuring volumetrically, you’re looking for around one half cup.  That’s for chicken cut in about a half inch dice.

Or about one and a half average sized chicken tenders.

Did you notice the heavy usage of words like “about, around, and average”? Let those words remind you that while this method can work in a pinch, it shouldn’t be relied on long term.

If you’re looking for a scale, we got ours on Amazon for $25.  Not too shabby.
