Low-Cal Kung Pao Chicken

Who says Chinese food can’t be healthy? This delicious Low-Cal Kung Pao Chicken is easy on your waistline and easy to make!

Kung Pao Chicken

Prep time: 35 – 64 min

Cooking time: 20 min

Ingredients:

100 g Chicken cut into chunks

Chopped Onions (allowed amount)

1-2 tsp Sambal Oelek

Red pepper flakes (optional)

Marinade

  • 1 part liquid aminos
  • 1 part rice vinegar

Seasoning

  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1-2 tsp fresh minced ginger root

Sauce

  • ½ C broth
  • 1-2 tsp liquid aminos
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar

Directions :

  • Marinade chicken in the fridge for 30 min – 1 hour
  • Preheat non-stick pan on Med-Hi heat
  • Cook chicken 5-7 min (brown all sides)
  • Add sambal oelek & cook 1-3 min
  • Remove chicken and set aside
  • Add onion and cook until tender
  • Stir seasoning mix in with onions & cook 1-3 min
  • Add sauce to pan & cook 1-3 min
  • Add chicken back to pan & cook 1-3 min
  • Top with red pepper flakes (optional)

*Tip: Like seafood? Try substituting the chicken with shrimp!
